Our own card, so a round stops depending on somebody else's export. Every stroke carries the distance it was played from — which is what makes the dead zone and the wedge rule gradeable instead of "not measurable", and what lets a claim in a report point back at the stroke that produced it.
Course par and your card score are the reconciliation witnesses — the one check that separates a report you can trust from one that quietly disagrees with your own card.
Par and yardage once, and every round here starts from the real card instead of a guessed par-72. Par belongs to the course; yardage belongs to the tee set — so a forward tee is a second tee set, never an edit to the first.

From is derived — it is the previous stroke's finish, so it can never disagree with itself. A stroke from Green is a putt and its distance is read in feet; a putter from the fringe is not a putt.
