— The non-negotiables

Five rules every plan has to answer.

These are hard rules. Four are pass or fail; the fifth is graded, because stress is a quantity. If the data forces a choice that breaks one, we flag it — we never bury it.

Lay back and you hit the fairway

If you lay back off the tee, we expect the fairway every time. If a club can't deliver that, it's the wrong club.

Wedges always find the green

Every wedge finds the green — full approaches and chips alike. On the putting surface first, inside 6 feet second.

Never leave 40–74 yards

The in-between wedge is a dead zone. We plan the lay-up into the wedge band you actually hit greens from — full or three-quarter, whichever your numbers say.

Carry by 15, or lay back by 15

Any hazard in play is either carried by 15 yards or laid back from by 15. No flirting with the edge.

Choose to play stress free

Rules 1–4 are pass or fail. Rule 5 answers a level — LOW, MEDIUM or HIGH STRESS — because stress is a quantity and a round can carry some and still be a good round. Graded on the four things that build it before the scorecard does: fairways found against 70%, greens in regulation against twelve of eighteen, chips and bunker shots on the greens they missed — seven or more is stressful — and putts against the 29/31 band. They run in a chain, so what sets the level is where the round broke, not how many flags fired: we name the one earliest cause and show the rest as evidence. We always recommend the lowest-stress path the data supports.
